whats the problem?
I installed my amp and subs last week and am still stumped. All the wires are connected correctly but my amp still has no power. I grounded the wire by the spare tire under the mat in the trunk and sanded the area to get the paint off before i bolted down the wire. There's nothing wrong with the wire running from the battery to the amp. The fuses in the amp are good and the amp itself is good. i got it straight from a friend who used it the day before i put it in the lancer. so whats the problem? any thoughts would help.

^^ A quick check to see if the "remote" is correct is to use a little jumper wire and touch the Positive terminal to the remote terminal. If it turns on, your problem is your remote signal.
thanks guys. its raining right now and i dont have a garage or one to go to so ill have to wait. as for the protect light, it came on then went off..... no idea.

you probably have a pile of **** amp, the protect light shouldn't of come on at all. Either the remote wire isn't hooked up right or try a new spot for you ground. I did mine right behind the back seat on a bolt under the matt
Double check to make sure you are getting a proper power and ground, I use a test light but you can use a multimeter too. Once that is done check the remote wire and make sure it is getting power when the head unit/source power is on. I have seen people connect the remote lead to the amp to the power antenna wire on the deck, and the subs only worked with the radio on, reconnected the remote wire to the proper lead and it worked fine no more problems.
