Viper alarm auto start and fast key?
Viper alarm auto start and fast key?
Sorry If this has been asked before, I searched for a while and couldn't find an answer.
I have an 08 CVT Lancer ES, with a fast key. I want the viper alarm system with the auto-start, but can't seem to get a clear answer as to how well they will work together?
Will I lose the ability to walk up to my car and have it unlock when I touch the door-handle sensor?
Viper says "it should work fine together"
Installers at Best Buy said "it won't work"
So I don't have a clear answer--- I was hoping someone here with more experience could shed some light on how well they will work if both are installed?
Thank you!

My guess is only if the Viper is disabled. I doubt so with the alarm enabled. But that would defeat the purpose of the fastkey. Viper isn't exactly unbeatable either. You'd probably be better off to invest in LoJack
yes, it is answered. The fast key wil ONLY work when the vehicle is not remote started. However if the viper has an alarm or keyless and the fast key is used to unlock your doors, it can mess with the system or set off the alarm. If the vehicle is remote started, you would have to either unlock it manually, or get a system with an aftermarket keyless.
Just for your knowledge, start your car with the fast key, and try and use the factory keyless lock, unlock, trunk pop. Nothing works.
There for, moral of the story: if you want remote start and have the fast key, the "fast" keyless will not work with car started

it all depends on what trim lancer you get. if you get a lancer with power door locks, then yes, it has the actuators in it, if you get a lancer that does not have power door locks, then no, it does not come with actuators. it will be either all or none.
