Question better battery?

I had beed running a rockford 360a2 in my lancer and i recently purchased a much bigger amp (1200 watts to be exact) and while i have a 1 farad cap i was thinkin would it be good to upgrade the battery? i dont really know any brands or where to look for better car audio oriented batterys so if anyone has any advice or links to where i can find a good high performance battery i appreciate it! THANKS!

Usually it is not the battery you need to worry about. It is the alternator. Look at the battery label, it could probably take more amperage (ms?) if only the alternator could supply more.

any way to boost the output of the alternator without replacing it with a better one?

on my old car i took it to a altinator repair shop
they ended up throwing a smaller pulley on it so it would spin faster
it ended up giving me a few more amps to play with.
call around and ask local shops

You are not planning on playing your Tunes with the engine off, are you?

If the engine is running, the battery will be bypassed anyways... and alternator will drive all your electronics then.

Battery

I have been told that you can ruin your alternator if the amplifiers pull too much current from it. I have a 400watt amp and with the lights on at night they dim big time. I have thought about a lightning cap but probably our best bet is to change the alternator or not put too much music in. The latter will never happen so you know what you have to do.

well a 1 farad cap says it can support a 1000 watt system... so if i got like a 1.2 farad cap that would hopefully cover it
