How to set time/date on Multi-Control??

Disconnected the battery and it reset the Multi-Control unit. Now it reads January 1, 2005 as the date and 1:00 as the time. Every time I turn the car off and back on, it resets the time back to 1:00

The manual didn't say anything other than set the time zone, WHICH I DID....don't know wtf to do. Any help??

I'm pretty sure it gets the time from the Sirius satellite. Do you not have Sirius for some reason?

Is the "Multi-Control unit" you speak of the Nav unit? Or is that the base radio? If it's nav, it gets the time from GPS. Changing time-zone in the nav unit will affect displayed time, as well as toggling daylight savings. But you cannot manually change the actual time value as it is collected from GPS.

Or if you have the base radio... I dunno, sorry.

The bottom line is that you need to select the correct time zone and then drive the car.
The GPS position needs to be initialized by moving the car.
A quick trip around the block, or probably just a trip out of the driveway and back will update the time.

Hello! I have the same problem. It connects to the GPS satellites and corrects the time, but the date remains 2005 January. What do I need to do to set the date to 2023? The device is MMCS E-03 if it matters.

I've got the same exact problem. It just started a week ago. The date reads the same as yours and my driving time counter stays at 0:00 no matter how long I drive. I hope someone can find a solution for us.

NAV Touch Screen

My car has recently started doing the same. Drive time says zero, time has to reset every few days, if not daily. Time zone is set right and date just noticed shows back in 2005. Didn't even own the car yet since its a 2010 model GTS Lancer.

My information center is doing the same thing, only it's date is March of 2004. 4 years before the car was built.
It's affecting the driving time, and maintenance schedule information.
When I first start the car the clock is at 4 am. After a few minutes it corrects to the right time.

Strange, what happened with the MMCS´s ? Quite a few MMCS users apparently have this problem. At first I thought maybe it was something to do with a low battery, but I have absolutely no problem with starting the engine (no signs of a bad battery).

The nightmare that is MMCS

I had to disconnect my GPS cable from the back of the radio and set the time and date manually. To set manually follow these steps.
Hold “Set” and “Navi”
Hold “Menu”
Select “GPS Information”
Select “GPS Time Setting”
Select “Yes”
Set Date and Time
Select “Set”
Select “No”
Once you do this you will need to back all the way out and verify the time in the Time zone selection screen. If it is not set correctly then you will need to figure out how many hours to add or subtract from the current time showing and then go back into the secret menu to add or subtract the hours. I know it’s a pain but that’s how I fixed it on my 2010 Outlander.

I did NOT disconnect GPS unit and it also worked. However, I did this procedure inside the garage, so there was NO GPS signal available (this accomplishes the GPS antenna disconnect part). It took me 2 minutes and the most confusing thing was the format for the date. Eventually, I figured it on and it was my local MM/DD/YY.
ALSO, the time that should be adjusted is for UTC time zone, so add/subtract hours/minutes accordingly.
