Hmm im not too sure, would that work so i wouldnt have to solder anything together? just deck > converter > amp > sub? Not too familiar with this stuff lol. My friend wants me to get a whole new deck but I wanted to see if there was a way to do it with the stock head unit.

yeah, you wire the converter into the rear speaker leads, and it converts it to a low output, then plug RCAs into the converter, then to the amp. although, its a bit lower quality, and whenever you unlock/lock the doors in the car, the subs will thump for some reason. I had that problem lol. its almost easier to get a new deck, looks better, better controllability, better sound, but if you really want to keep stock, LOCs are the only way to go and they will work fine.

good luck.

i did my setup a little different. i bought a five channel amp. which used and internal input for the sub. basically i bought a 2 channel LOC like mentioned above. i sliced behind the head unit. the LOC will convert speaker +/- to RCA outputs. then ran rca's to the trunk. by doing this i was thinking ahead. if you ever decide to replace the head unit the rca's are already ran. nemore questions let me know...i can also provide a wiring diagram if needed

Hello I want to hook up a 4 channel amp with upgraded speakers to my stock head unit. But I have no idea wich wires to splice into on the radio harness on the back of the stock stereo to hook up the LOC. Also I heard that it has to be spliced into the rear speakers is that true or can you splice into the front lef and front right speakers as we'll or does it matter.

Any insight would be greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance
