Amps

Ok, so right now I'm running 4 Alpine SPS-600's (240w max), a Sony Xplod basic headunit, a 760w 2/1channel Xplod sub amp and 2 12'' xplod subs.

So first, what type of speaker amp should I be looking for? How many channels? watts? brand?

also, my subs are both 800w, so should I get a better sub amp? 760w amp seems too low for 2 800watt subs

i think the rms is 80 per speaker. price i don't really care about, but I'm hoping to spend like 150-200max, and off of www.sonicelectronix.com if possible too

edit: yes 80rms per speaker

ok, so look for an amp thats about 80 watts RMS per channel @ 4 ohms. look at Alpine, JL, Kicker, and other top brands. I had a power akoustic amp, and there was bad alternator whine, even with ground loop isolators. dont get power akoustics. for 4-channels, stay with top brands. I know JL has a nice amp, forget the exact model number, but its 75 watts per channel at 4 ohms. perfect.

so something like this?
http://www.sonicelectronix.com/item_...+MRP-F300.html

and how am I going to hook up a sub amp and a speaker amp to my headunit that only has one set of outputs? will I need a new headunit with 2 outputs?
or would I even need 3 outputs because of the 4 channel thing

yeah that alpine would work nicely. Yes, a new head unit is a must if you want the best quality. you could use 3 line output converters (front, rear, sub), but that looks messy, and won't yield the best quality. you need 3 outputs (front, rear, and sub)

^ +1 on the new headunit. Look at something with a GPS built in.

that doesnt mean anything. i need model numbers, tech specs, etc. is 800 watts the RMS or max wattage??

and another thing to add to the new head unit thing...for the RCA preouts, the higher the voltage, the better.

where on earth does it say those are 800 watt subs??? right from the online manuals from Sony's website, they are 160 watts RMS. you need to be looking for an amp that does 300 watts RMS at 2 ohm. I recommend Hifonics for those subs, they will be a nice match, and are pretty cheap.
