I know there are 6.5"s in teh back dash and in the front doors, but where are the tweeters? The 6.5s dont have them, they're like a mini-sub.

ES's don't have separate mounted tweeters. just a midwoofer with that mini paper-tweeter on it. they're garbage.

so I might as well switch them out with a full mid-range speaker rather than a component system for the easiest way

speaker size are 6 3/4 all around, not really hard to install but component would take more time.

a component system is where the tweeters are not mounted inside the mid-range speaker (in our case the 6.75"), but is in a completely different casing.

it also utilizes a separate crossover to split the signals going to the speakers. it does this to make sure the tweeters don't get any bass and the mids don't get any frequencies that are too high.
