6.5 speakers

When I was driving one day all my factory speakers went out. I posted that and everybody told me that my speakers were blown. So I went out and got 4 6.5 sony explodes and installed them and they still wont come on. Does anybody have a clue whats wrong. The CD player turns on and works fine and the subs turn on and work fine but the rear panel speakers and the door speakers wont turn on even though I replaced them. Somebody please help.

Are the speakers runninig off an amp. If so you may have blown a fuse in the amp or lost the signal going into the amp. If not, its probably something in the head unit. It would be really odd for all your speakers to blow at the same time, and usually when a speaker blows it just sounds like crap rather than going completly out. I would start by checking all connections and fuses.

you said a 200 watt amp... is that amp powering the speakers? and, how did you install the amp using the factory deck? did you use the line-out converter behind the radio or by the rear speakers?

so... it's not a 200 watt amp, it's a 50 x 4 pioneer head unit. now, i gotcha. let's get everything straight...

did the speakers stop working the moment you hooked up the pioneer deck? if so, did you wire everything up properly? where did you buy the head unit and what wiring harnesses did you purchase for it?

did you pull out the radio and check all of the connections? it might just be a radio with a fried internal amp. the subs should still play no matter what, they don't use the same amp that's inside the head unit. the head unit has a 50x4 that goes to the speakers. the amp that powers the subs just uses the head unit's RCA signal.

you can't just replace an internal amp in a head unit. you have to get a new head unit. if the head unit is under any kind of warranty or service plan, get it checked out. but... first, did you pull out the head unit and check all wiring connections??? try takin it to a local circuit city, they can probably look at it for you and maybe diagnose your problem.
