Would a 12" JL W7 sound good in my Lancer? Does anyone else have this sub(s) in their car? What amp would you suggest I use to power 1 12" JL W7 Sub? I'm getting one for my RalliArt soon and I kinda want to do a custom setup, but I'm not sure if I should or not or where to even go to have it done. I'd like to have it down in my spare tire space facing up looking nice with a custom look.

 

A 1000/1 mono block JL amp should work well i think.

the sub sounds nice, very deep... fairly clean. great sub overall. i was considering it but i want to save some weight...

I use a 500/1 for mine, I heard the 1000/1 and thought it was overkill.

 

500/1 on a 12W7? Are you insane?! you're getting like 1/2 the output you should be getting!! aaaah!

lols.. If you get a JL W7, the best possible box out there is the HO box you can get them in. They are the loudest and most linear box I've ever heard...

Very very good system: 1000/1 and a 12W7 in a JL HO box (or your own, just build it ****in tough), JL 300/4 on a JL XR653 BiAmped in kicks for front stage, 300/2 on XR650's in the back.

meh, im not a 16yr old kid i don't need to provide bass for the neighbors.

 

you dont have to be a 16yr old to enjoy loud music. i totally recommend the w7. i would get it but too pricey.

 

power isnt just about SPL, it has a fairly major impact on SQ at higher volume...

You have a W7 and you don't care about the output that much? A W6 or even a W3v2 would have been fine then....wanna trade?
