not bad for a starter system
couple things though...
a cap shouldn't be needed on such a low power system unless something is wrong with wiring.
do you have any pics of the sub boxes under the rear window? From the pics it looks like there is no box at all which would suck for quality clear bass.
looks like a very nice video setup... got pics of your 12" screen? that would kick ***
you should get a deck with 3 preouts its got a much cleaner signal if you wire it so the front speakers rear speakers and sub each have their own preout and it gives you a lot more tuning capabilities.
I think someone already asked what speakers you are running but I didn't see an answer
I would not recomend the 6x9 because the flex isn't even on the speaker and they tend not to sound as good as round speakers and they wear out a lot quicker because of the uneven load/stress.
I'm assuming the amp you have is a 4 channel amp so how come you aren't running power to all 4 of your mid speakers? or are you using the last two channels for your subs? if so I would recomend an additional amp or at least put the amp power to the front speakers instead of the rear.

Great start to your system, the custom center consol with built in subs sounds promising do keep us updated

I got the cap cause I'm running two amps, a bridged 4 ch 400w and a 2 ch 300w, and my lights kept dimming. The cap fixed that. 8's are bridged across the 400 and the 6's are run from the 300 (but it's turn'd down a good bit).

I'm pretty sure I don't have any wiring problems, stereo wiring is pretty straight forward. I'm sure you'll agree.

Your right, I don't have a box for the "subs" in my windows, but then again, I'm not really using the 8's as subs. A very good friend of mine is a sound engineer and has done a really great job tunning this system for me. It's really something you have to hear. I've got a radio with 3 preouts, but I just don't use the sub output. He and I agree that 8's aren't really subs but infact belong in that gray area between subs and mid-bass. We could be wrong, but wrong really sounds good.

Front - Kenwood
Rear Door - Dual
Subs - Came out of a pair of bazooka tubes

The plan is to switch the whole system to Focal speakers once we finish the console. I'm going to get them from my good friend Thomas out at Superior Sound in Fresno, CA.. I got the idea for my system from him and his Mini. Last time I talked to him he had like 6 Focal subs, and I think a set of components. But he hasn't lost much space or gained much weight. For the time being we're living the life the low budget way...lol....

As for the screens, the 12" is a pain without a rear view camera I really hated driving with that thing down untill I got the camera in. Kids love it though, as do most of our friends. Both screens came off ebay, I took a chance on those screens for $250 - $300 and I can't complain. Picture looks great, everything works, and it got to me fast. The whole video system was $829.45 (2 screens, camera, PS2, inverter, and cables) I keep my receipts. If someone can beat that price let me know, I'll take it all back and start over...lol...

no love for the 6x9's huh? Your not the first person I've heard that from. I'll post pics of the console when I can....
