Proper wiring?

I've asked that question before, but never got a clear answer, so let me ask it again I'm running 2 amps. 1 for the sub, and 1 for the components. Which amp should be wired first. Should I bring the RCAs from the HU to the sub, or to the components first?

So you're using one set of RCAs and splicing them? Not sure how much distortion would come into play with wiring one amp first over the other, so I don't think it'd matter either way.

Of course not...

1 from the headunit to Sub's input
1 from the Sub's output to components' input

If you have a throughput on your sub amp which im guessing your talking about run it there first then to the other amp, if you have one on both do the front amp first, you need more signal there for cleaner sound and bass can be more distorted and not sound as bad, personally id get a deck with two or more sets of preamp outputs.

Ohhh and if you are which I think you arent but DO NOT splice RCAs rca cables have a resistance level to transmit the signal just like a speaker has a resistance level in ohms. If that makes sence.. anyways if you splice them you WILL screw them up.

First off if your running subs you should have a deck with no less than 3 preouts...
take 2 of the preouts to the amp that is going to run your speakers 1st preout for the front set 2nd preout for the back set

then take the 3rd preout and run that to the subs and you should be fine this way you will be able to tune your system and add or decrease power to front back side to side and have your subs on a totally separate preout..

This is by far the best setup due to adjustability and this is really the way that systems were designed to be wired. If you don't have a deck with 3 preouts you really should think about getting one if you want to run subs

thanks guys. I tried both actually. Having the sub's amp wired first kinda sound better, so I've got it that way for now.
