ROAD/RACE Piggyback VERSION 2
if you get on the floor board and look up... you will see a lil plastic cover kinda underneath the dash... just give it a nice tug and it should come right... then you should see the wiring harness for the ecu...
So i finaly got around to getting it in. Works awesome, pulls awesome. I was expecting 3 things, good power, rough idle, and the check engine light. Well i got all 3 and was wondering how i should deal with the rough idle. Because sometime it will drop to like 100 rpm and then sometime just stall and thats not good when im doing normal driving and say put the clitch in to go to 2nd around a turn and then all of a sudden, no power steering. So should i raise the idel? If so how do i do it and how much do i do it. My car usualy idels at 800 and then drops to about 200-100 when its being rough, so i was thinking if i could raise it to 1000 then it would drop to like 500-400? Also how can i check to make sure that the check engine light is actually from me putting in the piggy back. Is there a code reader i can get to read the codes and then reset the light? If so where can i get it? thanks guys. Great product RRM. Next thing ill check is my gas mileage.
Call RRM. Don't ask a bunch of yahoos on the boards...
For the code reader, either buy one (any auto parts store), or have AutoZone/Advance/etc scan your car for free (they do that, just ask).

Raise your idle a little. Code is prolly a phantom randon misfire code. it is not a real misfire, it is just that a lumpy idle makes ECU go... "What was that...Misfire, Manifold DANGER!"

to raise idle, just loosen the two bolts holding the throttle cable in place on top of the intake manifold and slide it left a little then tighten it back down.
This is so not right... your telling him to tighten the throttle cable in order to raise idle... very bad idea.
There is a screw on the TB... usually has a rubber plug in it. It's on top right corner near fire wall. That's the one you need to turn to play with idle.

Thanks, i raised the ideal and its working alot better. Just 1 more question, i had the check engine light on from the piggy back(i expected this) but the other day it just disappeared again, i still have the rough ideal from the piggy back and pretty sure i still have the tb responce and power from it. So im pretty sure its still there, so can the engine light just turn off on its own over time?
