Coolant bypass on throttle body?-throttle-body.gif This pic does help, ours is almost the same. I just did it in the parking lot at work, and no kidding, it took me about 8min with a pair of pliers. Piece of cake!

A coupler would be easiest but I just yanked the short hose out and connected the end of the long hose (still attached at the block) to where the short was attached (on engine). I used the existing clamps.
The quote above was how I did it and I didn't need any other parts, and as I said, just a angled needle nose plier. I drove around some and as was stated, I didn't notice the sluggish throttle response as much after the engine got hot and I didn't experience any problems, engine idled and ran fine.

so you pull the long hose and attach it where the short one goes. What do you do w/ the short one?

The popular opinion on the thread you linked was that it is not necessary to block them because they don't do anything but provide a path for the coolant to flow, so I left mine unplugged. I will probably go back later and put vaccum plugs on them, as one guy did, just to play it safe, but they do not draw a vaccum so there realy is no way for anything to get in there.

This has turned into a pretty useful thread once we got past the standard sarcasm.

lol thats true.

one of you two need to take a couple of photos just give a good reference for everyone else. Or do a short write up in the how-to section.

I will have a go at this after work.

The nipple on the left, or towards the front of the TB has a longer hose on it than the other on the right (thumbnail) So just take the short one completely off, some coolant will spill, not much, and attach the long hose to the line the little one was attached to, not the TB. I ran the long hose between two other hoses that are kind of in the way so I didn't have a kink in it.

You wont have any trouble. Print out the picture I attached to my post, it is all you will need to see the two lines we are talking about, seeing the one on the left is longer, taking the little one off and attaching the long one onto the return line the little hose was originaly attached to. This is so easy, and you will see that when you look at the pic, and then go look at you car.

this could be the second easiest mod we have on the site
(it falls right below the "filling up the gas tank" mod)

<<<back for looking under hood.
That looks super easy. Just get rid of the shorter hose on the right. I might do this when I get off work.
