Paying for a mistake...

Okay...well, I'm definitly ready for the ridicule so here we go. I bought my '03 lancer 2 years ago. And I pretty much knew NOTHING about cars. Well...while putting on (at the time) an ebay intake (spit spit spit) I removed my mass airflow sensor (blah!) So you can imagine how my car acts. It's been a year and a half - it miraculously passed my inspection test (just by resetting the computer) but the car runs like ***. I've lost gas milage, funked up my idle sensor, and you can tell that the car wants to move but doesn't know what to do. And a diagnostics test shows that it's the M.A.S. and the Idle Sensor. So...now that I actually now a thing or two about vehicles and have been doing them up as well as my '03 Lancer ES since then it's time to fix my boo boo once and for all.

The question lies: Where the F**K can I find a decently priced mass airflow sensor? I went to auto zone and they told me some $275. Now...is this what i'm going to have to look at , or is there hope somewhere else? I'm hoping you can help. Thanks ya'll.

Why the hell did you take it off? Without that your car dosent know how much fuel to inject into the cylinder. You have been running lean for a long time, hope it works out for you.

Didn't you realise that your car was acting f**ked up when you took the MAF off?
What happened to your old MAF?
Try carparts.com and ebay.

I think u got enough flames by now so i will just get to the point:

First choice would be Car-parts.com and second one would be ebay. I have seen couple of crashed lancers being part out on ebay so just shoot a message to the seller and they will let u know if they have one for you.

PS: 3 weeks ago i saw used RMR intake with MAS filter for about $75.00 so it all depends on the luck.

I was looking around and found a MAF under some clothes on my floor. The MAF came with a CAI that I bought from a junkyard seller on ebay. The seller said that it came off a Lancer (didn't say what trim or year).
I wasn't sure about that the MAF would be function for my car so I used the MAF that was already on my car.
PM me if you want more info on the MAF that I have.

MAP is a completely different way of measuring air. GM uses MAP alot. It measures pressure instead of counting air particals. MAP is the way to go if you get like the Maf-t Pro which will convert the car to use a map sensor mostly used in Turboing non turbo cars. His best bet is going to be to post in the Wanted section and check ebay for a reliable seller.
