Exclamation ECU flash help!!!

Alright, so I got evoscan and ecuflash. My only problem is people keep talking about these 02 definition files I need to load. I have NOTHING like that. I plug in the cable, open up ECUflash and tell it to read computer. It asks what car I have (evo 6-7, evo 8-9, eclipse, wrx, sti etc.) NO regular lancer. I tried the 01-05 evo 6/7 but that didn't work. I can't get anything to come up to get any maps or values or anything.

Use the Evo 8/9 option. All these choices pertain to is how EcuFlash will talk to the ECU. Its basically the communication commands that it expects to receive and what it will send back in return in order to be able to read the data. If you pick the incorrect option it simply won't be able to read your ECU. The definition files are used for interpreting the data that EcuFlash reads from your ECU. Without a correct definition file, the ROM data will just look like random values. The definition file arranges the data in a readable fashion.

There are many different definition files for each year and transmission. Send me a copy of your ROM in a .hex file and I'll see if I have a working definition file for you. If not, I'll make one.
