how long has it been uninstalled? i was told the rack and pinion can get dry if you havent had power steering for a long time. you might have to buy a new one.

 

Why would you want to take out the power steering? Unless you're building a race car and need to make every 1/4 of a HP you can, it's a waste of time.

 

well se thing is i bought this car salvaged out with the front end completely smashed i got it fixed and everything but theres still broken lines and the power steering pumppulley n every thing is very bentalong with the shaft

 

i dont mind not having power steering, I had friennds with hondas that had it taken off and it wasnt that bad. butif its too much trouble you guys think im better off just replacing the pump and hardlines?

 

i'd replace it. dont they sell electronic power steering pumps also

yeah A/C and P/S is a plus and unless you are building a race car like amby said theres no point, but hey whatever floats your boat. Its sort of a hassle taking all the belts and stuff out for it. I think there are some threads about it and i think one guy said he cut his hand or something like that.
