What do you mean by breaking in a piggy back?

There shouldn't be any "breaking in period", but there is a learning curve for the ecu. Remember after installing something like this or resetting the ECU (keeping the battery off for 30 min or so) that you must let the car idle for a minimum of 10 minutes and then drive conservatively as it learns. Don't rev high or hit the high way right after install.

Also, if you did the above and are still having problems, odds are you botched the install. Contact RRM

Hammer, plyers, screw driver... takes about 30 seconds to "break in".
Most piggy issues are user errors, so I'd say you may have wired it wrong, or your connections aren't good enough.

I got version 1. This version could be wired to both auto and manual trans as long as you spliced the proper wires.

I don't know about other versions. But I know wiring is usually the problem.
