Tuning timing maps.

alright its been a while since i seen some other maps besides mine.

i had pretty high timing but it seems like it was always knocking from 60-110 load

so i reduced timing in that area and i feel like i have lost a lot of pep.

im thinking about getting a pro tune because really at 12 psi it doesn't even feel like very much..... maybe its just me but my timing seems to really be costing a lot of power. afrs are basically perfect so its not that here is my timing map post up what you guys have and any thoughts. also post up what MAF your using.

u might need to zoom in on your browser (ctrl +)

Have you tried to smooth it out first??? the 100 load near 4000rpm needs to be smoothed out. Try to smooth it out then start advancing. I'm sure just smoothing it out you would notice a difference.

Tried. Smoothing it out. Just have the timing where it doesn't knock. But even then it shouldn't make a huge difference a few degrees. But if u think about it the timing changes so much depending where the throttle is

Idk man on the 4000rpm one area drops from 23* to 12*. The 100 load ascends then drops a little near the 4000rpm area then ascends again. I think thats your problem area.

alright i smoothed that area out a little bit but im not sure it helped much...

the 4k area on our cars is a low timing area even on the stock rom...

other turbo lancer owners are talkin bout burning rubber on full throttle second gear and such but i have no such power at 12psi.

its quick but just not burn rubber quick. and second gear bottem end just seems slooowwww

Why dont you just print screen your picture instead of it being all tiny?

even stock runs more than 12psi on redline raise your boost. burning rubber will come if you run 25psi and more

Did some logging in 2nd just to mess around and even on the stock rom I seen 3-4 counts of knock. I didn't log the voltage because I forgot tho. That was around 3500-4000rpms. Also sent you a pm burner.

Also, I'm a little low in the power neighborhood myself friend. I have a friend with a bone stock lancer, we logged his and saw around 6-14 counts of knock consistently at cruise to light accel. I had an alarm setup in evoscan to say "warning, engine knock detected" or whatever, and it just went off constantly....all the time for about 2 minutes of driving, before I just turned it off.

With that said, my current tune being a little shotty, and the general lack of love I'm feeling from my car...I've decided to just drive it into a lake and call it a day.

Nah, but I am going to ask English Racing to help me tune it...even willing to give them green pieces of paper in exchange! I'll tell you guys if I am happy with the results once they do a number on me, and you can judge at that time if you'd also like to have them tune by mail.....excitement fills me, can't wait.
