This is what I get before hooking up the cable and writing the ecu. I'm not with the car now so I can't hook it up to show the no vehicle interface message. Not sure if this helps or not.

Well there is your problem Seriously though it might be, cant remember if ecuflash drivers or signed or not I am guessing not. RyanCB would know more in that area than me though. I like XP for my tuning laptop.

So I can't use Windows Vista? That's the problem? I was originally going to use my computer that has Windows 7, but kept getting an error message when I was downloading Senate's definition files. I'm going to try my sister's laptop and see if it will work. Running out of options...

In this line i have an issue with your setup.

scanning for metadata models in C:/Users/toshiba/Desktop/Definitions

You should not have changed this location for the xml files. There are other files like reading definitions so the program knows how to read and write to the cars as well. Point it back to ecuflashes default directory.

c:\program files (86)\openecu\ecuflash\rometadata\

Interesting didnt think that would have an effect on the cable connecting.

doh your right about that piece lol

it really seems his drivers aren't hooked up. Btw just as a test I decided to put my 1.3 cable on the laptop to see if it would see it without the car attached and it seems ecuflash will continue to say "no vehicle" interface because likely the cable doesn't have any power from the car. I suppose a similar problem could be happening to this guy.

He should goto device drivers and under usb devices see if the cable is registered properly. If its got the driver warning he should update drivers and see if that fixes it.

EvoScan has drivers that will work for win vista/7 x86 and x64. EcuFlash IIRC doesn't. I would bet money all 3 drivers aren't installed correct.

Thats incorrect ecuflash does come with both x86 and x64 drivers.

Ok so the car is running now, but still never actually got the tune to write to the ecu. It seems to actually run decent unless I stomp on it...i'm suprised, I expected it too run rough and rich, but no. Anyway, I've tried everything to get the cable to connect and all i'm getting is the no vehicle interface and interface close message when I click to write. Really unsure of what else I need to do now to upload my tune, but if any one know's of something I can do I'd appreciate it.

BTW is this is a second hand cable? I guess i didn't think of this before but ecuflash has a licensing program attached to their cables so if you purchase a cable from evoscan without a license that cable wont work with ecuflash as of ecuflash version like 1.3 or so.

It was purchase from evoscan.com. This is the file the tuner at Batlground sent me to purchase the cable. http://evoscan.com/evoscan-gps-obdii...flashing-cable

Then it will not work with ecuflash sorry. The reason it costs more on tactrix side is the license i talked about. I would get evoscan purchased if you haven't already and use it to flash cars with.

You'll still be able to edit cars via ecuflash.
