Need some help with my 05 OZ and ECUFlash

Ok so I've done allot of research so far and I am still a bit confused maybe? Not sure, but I'm having issues with ECUFlash so let me explain..

I have a 2005 Lancer OZ Rally with 140k, Magnaflow Catback and AEM CAI. Also a Wide-band installed in the Bank1S1 bung (Stock got busted in the tranny install this past weekend). Heater part was busted so I'm going to through a resister in there and send it.

I'm also a Mitsubishi Technician as-well so I know my way around them for say.

My past tuning experience is with Hondata s300. I also own two Hondas. One is turbo-ed one is stock. I'm pretty familiar with the tables and the know hows on tuning.

Ok so my question is...

I got a hold of a tactrix 2.0 cable from a buddy of mine who owns a evo. I'm able to log with this cable on Evoscan also was able to use Virtual Dyno (102hp 106lbstq

Now I cant seem to do anything with ECUFlash. I understand you need a definition file? and a ROM, but couldn't I just get the ROM currently on the car? Also where do I find a definition file for my vehicle? This part is confusing I remember when I owned my evo I tried this and I couldn't get it work?

I think I need to be pointed into the right direction here. I downloaded ECU flash 1.42 instead of 1.44 also but still nothing. With 1.44 I was able to select a vehicle but on 1.42 I can't do this.

SO research didn't seem to help with this. I definitely thought there would be a ton of info on this but I'm surprised i could not find any answers.

All help will be appreciated. I'm just so confused on how to get this to work. I only have this cable for a little while, Then maybe Ill purchase one. but I just don't have 250 ATM.

Ecuflash won't recognize the tables if you don't have the right definition file for your exact rom. You plan on tuning your stock lancer or going turbo?

I plan on tuning my stock lancer. I found a 02 es mt I'm using and it seems to work correctly. my next question... I have a plx wind band , can I wire that in place of the front o2 and use a risister for the heater? the resister already works bc what I stated above. but I have a stock downpipe and want to use the wide band.

and what does a car normally run in? open loop or closed loop. i get confused sometimes.

if I run the car without a front o2 (wideband in its place) would that have make the car run on preset tables instead of the car changing the parameters depending on what it sees from the 02?

What ROM id number do you have?

I have some definitions from some lancer oz that we have custom turboed!

Try to read the rom, ecuflash will tell that you don't have the definition, continue anyway, with a inherit def from another rom, and you can get the rom id info

Let me know that and maybe I can help

Open loop until warmed up then switches to closed loop

Yeah I'm using a 2002 lancer es map. Doesn't seem to have a-lot of options on there as I would have expected. At least not as much as some evo roms I loaded up but seems to be doing alright.

I have a few more questions.. I was playing around and starting to understand tuning (which is my goal) but between 3500 and 4000 rpms I cant seem to get it under 13.5 A/f ratio. it starts to go down like 13.0 but goes up to 13.5 then jumps right down to 12.6

I was told that 13.5 is a pretty safe but agressive target A/F I know with boosted its dangerously lean.

Also I noticed you cant really tune timing between 3000 to 4000 RPMs. It seems that the timing is closer to TDC and when ever I try to advance the timing I create knock. Is that normal? I was able to go from 106 hp and 114tq to 112hp and 132tq with vary minmal knock.

Now how do I know what load cell I'm on. With Hondata, It's live data. ECUFlash its not. I don't think I'm hitting 100% load. when I was working with timing I was I tuning 80 90 and 100 % together. I try to figure it out but I'm still stumped on it.

As far as I'm aware the wideband should give you a bit more freedom with the A/F due to the ability to read a wider range of values, but I'm more mechanic than tuner.
