performance tuning..NEED HELP
performance tuning..NEED HELP
hey guys i appreciate you coming and helping me so i have a few ideas on what performance wise i wanted to add to my car (2010 lancer gts 2.4L CVT):
RRM headers
RRM ECU add on/ flash
timing controller
crank pull
test pipes
and a tune
already intalled in my car:
custom magna flow axel back exhaust
injen short ram intake w/ hydroshield
what else could i possibly do w/o putting a turbo so i can tolerate my car a little more until i upgrade to an ev9 or sti?
and also how do i go about doing these mods? as in local shop or what?
thanks in advance!

the lancer cvt does not respond well in terms of gains when it come to mods. It's already handicapped by the large drivetrain loss it suffers, taking the stock crank hp of 160ish down to 120-130.
You're looking at most 15-25hp gain after intake, headers, cat-back exhaust, crank pulley, throttle body, and a proper tune. you'll be over grand into the motor just in parts with not much to show for. If you can't install the bolt-ons yourself then expect more money out of pocket for shop installation cost. But if you're cool with a slight bump in performance for the that money then go for it.
honestly, you're probably better off saving your monies and waiting till you get the evo or sti. being well over a grand just to come close to getting back what you lost through the cvt doesn't seem worth it imo.
