ECU problems

Okay so I went to have a retune done because the last tune made my speedometer not work. So I went to a new tuner to help me he said he can but then noticed that I dont have a definition files. He found a rom that works just not a def file to match it. My question is if I get an Evo ECU will this fix my problem completely?

In future it would be nice to give more details on your car...

Seems like you have RRM turbo kit. With evo ecu you would have to throw away rrm piggy back, their fifth injector, install IAT sensor and boost control solenoids to be free of DTCs. Oh and possibly get evo injectors and fuel pump.

I do have the kit minus the fifth injector and piggyback. Sorry I should've explained more. I have evo x injectors with a stock ecu. When I got tuned the first time the tuner only put on an evo x rom and it made my speedometer not work. I'm with a different tuner now and he can't do anything to it cause he doesn't have definitions he has a rom just no definitions to match. We're benching it tomorrow to see if that works and if it doesn't then I'm getting an evo ecu.

Benching should work. But as far as I know stock ecu with evo rom will throw crankshaft position sensor code and your MIVEC will not work. The only known way to fix this is to get evo ecu.

Also, did you/your tuner check goldenevo.com? It seems to be back up with definitions.

Were trying the benching today. Yea he usually uses golden when he works with evos but my ecu just isn't working with us. We're figuring it out. Worst comes to worst though I'll buy an evo ecu

I got a evo ecu but my engine didn't start. And all my sensors were going crazy saying I needed to service everything. Any ideas?

So I took my car to the dealer and the tech said the car and the ecu aren't communicating with each. It wouldn't even let him put the vin into the ecu. Help
