Road Race ECU Misfire...

I recently installed the piggyback ecu from road race and my car has misfired in almost every gear, but not in the same run. I am assuming that this is the ecu trying to figure out the best way to inject the fuel? Anyone have this happen?

did you follow the instructions for using it for the first time? you know, let it idle for 15 mins then drive it around town under 3k rpm for 20 minutes so the ECU can see the piggyback? if not then it might be the wiring you did. it was really confusing for me to understand the wiring diagram.

What Octane level have you been running since the install?

I have used only 93 since the install. The installation was done correctly, and so was the break in period.

Call roadrace they'll help you with the install if you need it. If it isn't an install problem they'll fix yous. Remember the diagram they give you is of the computer. So all you have to do is pretend the wires are still connected and cut whichever one they say.

OMG... the installation is complete cake. I do things of this nature for the military, so the install is way too easy to screw up, especially with the instructions they provide. I am now back in Korea so I am unable to do anything with it for another year.

did you put in a tank of 93 before the install or just after?

Remember there is still 1 to 2 gallons of gas your old gas if you waited to fill up right after install.

I put it in before. A little more info: It did not misfire everytime. It only misfired in 2nd, 3rd and 4th between 3800 and 5200, but not everytime I ran it through that range. That's kinda why I thought it odd. This misfire happened once in 3rd and 4th and about 3 times in 2nd; however, I would still be an advocate for purchasing this item. There is a noticeable difference in 2nd, 3rd, and 4th! How is that for irony.
