I need a real job before doing something like this. I hope Dave can see this thread and add to the discussion but I wonder if there is any engine age (mileage) that is too far to recommend power adding upgrades.

WADAD

Oh and my project is to get in the 15's NA with the least amount of mods expense wise. Anyone can be fast if they have a big wallet.

Tuning the quads is impossible without standalone, duals would be near there.

Wadadlig_Oz: I would personally recommend refreshing your engine if you encounter something like this. Nothing major, just all the seals and gaskets and clean out whatever you can, change oil, plugs etc etc.

Mike, your TB takes in air at 14.7 PSI, so it's nearly that of a turbo

I'm just being a smartass.... ambient air pressure is 14.7PSI (roughly) (for those of you cool kids who want to measure your turbo pressure in BARometric units, 1 BAR = 14.7PSI) there you go

Yes I saw the thread and have been keeping an eye on it but didn't want to add too much cause as said, the manifold kit we aer makign is still in the design phase. we aer finishing right now teh V6 models which will have photos soon and once they aer completed then moving onto the 4cyl models.

These are going to be a great improvement for teh 2.0 models especially as our own testing has found the stock manifold to be absoloutly shocking. My experience is so far - if you have a 2.0 model the best thing to do is buy a 1.8 manifold off a mirage and repalce it with that and a larger throttle body as that will be worth a 5 - 10% improvement straight away.

We tested ad found the stock throttle body / manifold combo with a set of our headers 4-1, one of our cold air kits, fuel pressure regulator and exhaust put out 130hp at the wheels on a local dyno. BUt during the run the manifold was still showing a vacuem reading of 3" mercury which is terrible cause it means that the engine is trying to suck more air than teh manifold can deliver.

with a larger throttle body this is reduced but the manifold is just terrible. A 1.8 log style manifold owuld flow a lot better but of course our new manifolds we are making will definitly not have any vacuem at wide open throttle.

The design will allow for a single air intake with a MAF sensor to be used with a greddy e-manage system and will work perfect for stock and modifed cars.
