Here's where you can pick up a G Tech online. And as for swapping out the TB, yeah it seems like a pricy mod, but it's the only way to get better airflow. The ends justify the means.

The TB mods and the MAF swap (getting rid of the restrictor plate, read up) are only going to do their damage in the high end of the powerband where the car is looking for more air at higher RPM's. Idealy, getting the manifold machined out to match the TB and incoming air charge would be the best.

Our T.B. gives a little more air flow and denser air. Stock T.B. 50mm all the way through. We open it to 54mm at the rear but open the front up to 65mm. There is a funneling affect to doing that. Every little bit helps but don't expect the world from just this one mod!

I like making the car better and faster, but cant quite validate 5grand on getting turbo while in college that is 40 grand a year. And can one of you, maybe hobie since he mentioned it, tell me what the MAS restrictor plate is?? And what are people doing about that "Bottleneck"??
The restrictor plate is the part of the MAS housing that restricts, and to an extent, channels airflow in your pre-manifold intake section. Don't forget that the cost s $270 plus core exchange (which means return shipping and you'd best do it quickly ....or ELSE! ) I got mine and put it on when I first put on my Injen. I have no regrets. It's one mod I won't have to make in the long run.

Honestly though if you're not planning on dumping a lot of money into the car then it's probably not your best bet. You'd probably benefit more from a header if you're looking for cheap, effective HP.

Rock- If you have 300-400 dollars to spend this spring, would you get the TB or the Headers? i have the intake, muffler, and cat. I might be doing both mods, but which is the more effective mod? Headers?

Probably notice header more than T.B.

Your best bet is to read. Read, read, read. The Lancer Upgrade Path would probably be the best place to start.

EDIT: Oh yeah. And use the search function. It's your friend, not your enemy.

Agree with HOBIE! Upgrade Path. It gives you a basic blueprint to h.p. mods and suspension upgrades etc....
