~Kamikaze Header problem~
Alright....
This last month I have been fighting to fix my SES(Service engine soon) light to turn off. A little under a year ago I got the Kamikaze Header and installed it. what i noticed was it got blazing hot right away and my chrome turned to a blue and red chrome, do to such intense heat. Soon after, my SES light came on. Now, my car didn't idle unnormally and my car didn't run any different, it was just really annoying to look at everyday. So, I took it to my local shop so they could run it threw and see if there was, infact, a problem.
Like I expected when I had to splice the wires to the Oxygen Sensor one of the wires came loose. I had the shop re-soder the wires, and miraculously the light went off. Upon driving the car around for 2 days, the light came back on. I immediately called my shop back and told them that the light came back on. They told me to bring the car back down, which i did, so they could run some more "tests".
Turns out that the O2 sensor was shot. They said that, that was the problem. So 300$ later I have a better Oxygen sensor that could with stand the heat. Once again the light was off for a couple days. And once again, the light turned right back on. So I went down to the shop, once again, and ask them to see what was wrong.
After about 30 minutes, the guy at the shop told me that everything checked out to be good and working, but he is pretty sure that the reason for the light to keep on going on is the unfimilar heat that the header to the exhaust produces. Now, I put on my Catback Magnaflow about 4-6 months before my headers. No light showed with the catback. But, when I put on the header and downpipe that came with it, the light showed. The guy explained to me that since the car doesn't idle any different and that the car runs perfect, i shouldn't have to worry about anything breaking down. He said that i shouldn't have to worry about the light, because nothing is wrong. But still it bothers me, because if something does go wrong with my car, i wouldn't know since the light is already on.
What would YOU ALL do in my possesion? sell these headers, but not the downpipe, because the downpipe is what caused the problem, and get the RPW or RRM headers. Or not even worry about it and just let the light stay on! I don't know, i'm kinda' in a pickle hear. Let me Know, and I thank you to those who reply in advance!

the shop told you that the O2 sensor couldn't handle the heat? i didn't think that the actual exhaust temp would change much, since you didn't change anything before the headers. seems like the exhaust exiting the enigine into the header would still be the same, header or no-header. in fact the only thing that really changes is the efficiency at which the exhaust exits the engine. so the heat should dissipate quicker since it's leaving the engine quicker. i don't know. i could be a total fock-tard. i have the kamikaze's, just haven't had time to put them on yet. i'll see what great misfortunes await when i put them on!

^werd...the shop took your money, and if they couldnt figure this out then i dunno why you keep taking it back since all they are doing is turning off the CEL or clearing the codes....THE search FEature is your friend, and you would have saved a lot fo money, if you would have used it....oh the the chrome on the header sucks, its just crome plated....

Yes guys, I did search. I read everything that I could of about the headers, before i ordered it. And i did get the MIL eliminator with the headers, but the wiring got screwed. Would it be just simple to order another MIL eliminator and see if that fixes the problem?

On a more serious note... The Cel with come on no matter what. The shop you went to just cleared the code and sent you back home 300$ in the hole. People are talking about flipping the cat, so you might want to try that. Or you can defenetly go with the RPW design.
