Question To install a 255lph pump

IF anyone can help. If I just install a 255lph fuel pump in my car, will it do any damage? Just thought this could be one thing to get out the way on the way to FI. Maybe I'll run rich. Any opinions or thoughts are welcome. Thanks

Unless you have some aftermarket pressure regulator you are going to be way rich and probably still rich with that. A regular lancer can't handle that kind of fuel flow the return system (especially the regulator) is not big enough to handle the amout of fuel that is not used. 350 HP DSM's don't need a 255 why should your 104 hp lancer? I left a 190lph (DSM) pump on mine and it runs rich with an aftermarket regulator. It will overwhelm the regulator and your fuel pressure will be out of control.

Doesn't Road Race turbo kit need that kind of fuel pump. My boy Omar has this pump in his setup.

There is a guy locally here who does nothing but tune/troubleshoot DSM's and the first thing he does is throw out the 255s and put the 190 back in there 9 times out of 10. People have gotten pissed off at him because they paid plenty for a pump that he throws out but when they drive their cars all complaints cease. With a 190 you can raise the pressure if needed with a 255 the pressure is nearly maxed out (over run FPR) with no way to lower it to a usable level because the FPR is open as far as it can.

NA you dont need a 255. Depending on your level of boost and mods, you may not even need it FI, either. You seem intent on running it, for goodness knows what reason. If you do, at least get some sort of piggyback controller and a better FPR if you decide to run it NA.

When bahamut had his 4G93, he had an Eclipse fuel pump and that was more than enough flow NA.
