Looks nice.. no miles listed.. no ECU..? Hmm.. that would be taking a little risk. But it is a pretty rare engine. 1250 bux + 300 shipping isn't too bad. That might be hard to find parts for since it is right out of japan. It came out of a Mitsubishi FTO.. sweet looking car.

I highly doubt it would work in your car. You would definitely need an FTO ECU, which is hard to come by in the US of A.

Tranny too most likely. That thing is not built to be run on our transmission, assuming you could even mate the two and still fit the engine in the bay.

i spoke with mitsiman last night and he said it will fit on our cars. he also said to get the aem ems for engine tuning and the tranny too. i remember i have called the seller of this engine a couple weeks ago and asked if they come with the mounts but they said they don't so you will have to get the mounts also from the fto.

rpw's have lancers with this kind of set up and i have seen mirages & lancers in asia that have this engine. i even have a friend in the philippines who has a 6A12 mivec on his lancer gsr and it's fast

Well, that would be awesome if you could get that engine to work in the Lancer. I say go for it. Nobody has really done a successful engine swap yet, they run into all sorts of weird problems and headaches. If you know EXACTLY what you need to buy that engine and make it work in the car, do it. That is if you KNOW how to do it so there aren't any problems to run into. Better hurry, as of 8:30am EST there is 5hrs left on the auction. =D

Just as well, Flash Options has a complete front clip which would be a much better choice. Don't know if it is auto or manual though.

The FTO uses almost the exact same 5spd manual as the Mirage/Lancer. 5th and final gears are slightly different, but the case is the same. The appropriate bell housing is all thats needed to mate any Lancer tranny to the 6A1x series motors. The auto is actually more interesting in that it has a 5spd, F5A42, which should mount exactly like the F4A42 from the Lancer, maybe even the same case (it defintely uses the same mounts). Plus, the FTO auto offers a sportronic shifter.

Now, the FTO is based off the 7G Lancer/5G Mirage, and a couple Mirages have already plopped in the 4G94 from the 8G Lancer with no problems. So, logically, the FTO motor and tranny will plop into the 8G Lancer without any problems. Since the tranny is for all intents and purposes identical, you use your same axles and suspension without any alteration.

Will fit in a lancer seen a couple over the ditch in Ozzie none in New Zealand. If you want to source mounts try NZ and aussie wreakers. www.kempys.co.nz deals international although prices aint **** hot. Same if you want an ecu. They have heaps of torque for NA.
