WTF??!?! Stupid Techs!
Nevaeh, if you have metal shavings in your oil pan, most likely your bearings are gone. To fix, that would entail picking down the entire block and doing a mini rebuild. As for proving that WalMart did a bad job, good luck. It would be your word against a multi million dollar corporation with no proof that THEY were the culprits.
And please turn your car off when you fill up.... the PEI states that the most common causes of FIRE at the gas pump are people who smoke cigarettes at the pump (yes it does happen) and people who leave their car running.

i think it was mythbusters that did a test on a cigarette lighting gasoline. it came down to the fact that the ember was hot enough, so it could theoretically work, but it was just not a big enough heat source, so they could never get a cigarette to light a pool of gas on fire

That is quite a remarkable story. Although, I would recommend no one try this on purpose
And for all you who say that you must change your oil every 3000 or 3500 miles - that is BS. It just depends on how often you change your filter and what oil you use. Here is a test that was done and the results show that the the car ran for 18000 miles before the oil needed to be changed using Fully Synthetic Mobil 1. The filter wasn't changed till 12000. http://neptune.spacebears.com/cars/s.../oil-life.html

GreenPyshco I've been stalking your posts somewhat, and I have to say to see a lancer move like a raped ape was the best thing I ever heard in my life hahaha... Anyways trust me it wont happen again, should I have to do whats called a 'mini rebuild' how much would that entail??? And well this still doesn't answer my question just why didn't it spin something... its just not feasible... I mean it defies all laws of physics (I think thats right??) bah anyways I just take it as someone upstairs was looking out for me... oh and could some people walk me through changing out my bearings... I'm just curious, where in the world could I get a MIVEC engine? and how much do they run? and oh the tranny how can I get it flushed the right way?
Dude, you have got to be kidding me.
It's Walmart's fault that you're an idiot? If it says to change the oil at 72k, and you wait until 83k, then that's your fault. The only person you should sue is your mom, because you were apparently born with no sense.
