EDIT: Nevermind. Your car's automatic so you'd have to swap transmissions, ECU's and a host of other stuff. I still don't understand the fascination with engine swaps, but hey...why apply reason when dealing with automotive tuning?
So, the idea of engine swaps is just fascinating to everyone, I thought that everyone with stock lancers did it, but I guess I was wrong, so then you don't swap them out, can you rebuild the engine you have? if so how hard is it? what are the benifets? and so forth...

There isn't a big enough...

You can rebuild, yes. Rods, forged pistons, PnP head - stronger and more powerful base to mod with. Especially if you're boosting.

Yeah, I did the legwork afterwards and found that out, but I was too lazy to post it. AdelaidJap has them in stock occasionally according to their site. They seem to be about as hard to find as the 96+ Lancer CE 4g93T.

Also, I dont know if it is worth it. Everyone that I know (all of three people) who have or had the MIVEC said that the HP claims are exaggerated. I have chalked it up to the MIVEC is running in Japan on 100+ octane to see that 197 hp or whatever it is, and when it hits our comparatively **** gas, it doesnt perform as much. I dunno tho, just drawing at straws.... regardless, no one will put forth the effort to source a MIVEC engine.

Do you guys think Mitsubishi has plan to redisign (doubt it lol) our 4g94 to be stronger and powerful and use it on other model or on future reg. lancer? Or at least, a better engine than can able to easily swap it...

naw, don't think they'll redesign it. it'll be the lowest US economy engine.

there was a comparison between the g93/g94 head vs the g63 head way back when on the mirage boards. MAJOR difference. don't think it exists anymore so i dont have the link. i asked for it once but haven't followed up on it. the head that we use says economy all over it.

They won't redesign it. They will do something to up the hp/tq though (timing, better fuel map, etc) so they can compete with other economy boxes. Every few years it seems the econ boxes get a few more hp/tq. Just look at the Cobalt and the Mazda3. They are both in the 140s. Ok, this doesn't hold true for Honda. The Civics have always been around 125 for the EX and 115 for all the others for quite some time now. The Corolla has been edging it's way up though. Who knows, maybe will throw some VVT on there to pull some extra horses and gas mileage out of it.

Hopefully they will use Mivec in 4g94 later or build another mit. car using the same chasis and same motor mount, but diff. engine?...ieno...just hoping.

For the civics, doesn't matter if they have low power, but at least the engines are swapable...
