Ok, now I don't know what's going on. I installed the v1.13 support tool software. Nothing. I checked the yahoo group, and basically, if I can update the firware with the cable (which I can) then I'm good to go on that front.

Sigh.... I'm about to give up.

If your looking to sell pm me...

Serious though. Hate to make things seem bad... maybe you should just take it to a local shop and get them to set it up for you? Saves the frustrations even though it could cost you some cash.

Not going to sell. But if you'd like to return my PM with what you did to make it work on those NA Lancers, that would be appreciated (and I trust you were doing some Dyno testing or wideband testing? ) I'd thought about the local shop thing, and maybe if I can get them to guarantee their work (i.e. we'll get it to work or no charge) I'll consider it. But I didn't learn how to swap my cylinder head, fabricate exhaust sections, swap suspensions or port manifolds by taking them to a shop to show me how. There must be a way to get this to work.
And on the cable: i checked the yahoo group, and basically, if I can get the firware to upgrade using the cable, it'll do everything it's suppposed to for the tuning end of things. At least that's not something else to buy

I do think I'm going to start from scratch, and I'll make sure the harnesses are working, etc. But not for a while- this project has already taken far more time than I had thought, and others are pressing against me. So we'll see what happens.

I replied... seriously though i'd ditch the harness. Never heard a single good thing about anyone i've seen and i've never had an issue with mine when working on others cars that had em. In fact i've been offered twice what i've paid for it by a few so they could have it right then.

Sorry but my stuff works and i'm keeping it ya know. Check out your pm's.

I'll check the PMs. A new GReddy mae cable is certainly an avenue to explore. I'll keep looking for a deal, or I'll just call Mohd to buy a new one if it comes to that. But I'm stubborn, so don't take offense if it takes forever for it to happen. BUT I'll let you be first in the "I told you so" line if it comes down to that

thanks

EDIT: your method is 180* opposite the method in the eManage FAQ. I'll definietly give it a try tonight and see if it doesn't give a better result.

^^ What was "your method" exactly? And if it hasn't failed you yet, that should be evidence enough that is the method that should be used.

E-boy, not that I'm an expert with e-manage, but I did notice a few things missing in yours posts. First you said that you could change idle but not WOT, so I am assuming that you are changing values above 35% throttle. One thing you might do is check and make sure that you have a voltage range for the throttle position. Also on mine I found out that if you make any changes to the maps below 35% throttle the stock ECU adjusts to them. I'm using the Airflow adjustment map rather than the additional injection map and I have the switches set to 3-8-3 because that was the closest match I could find in the manual. That's about all I had to do to get mine working. Hope you have some better luck.

I do have voltage readings through the eM up to WOT- I set them in the parameters using the throttle position thingy.

Are you saying to NOT make adjustments below 35%? I suppose that's worth a try, too. Your reasoning being that the ECU detecs something trying to make changes at lower throttle, so it prepares itself for higher throttle settings?

I've used both 3-8-3 and 3-8-4 (per ghostrider above)

Now my question for you: how do you KNOW that your eManage is working? Are you running constant WBO2 to check values? Have you gone back after initial tuning to make sure that the maps are still working? Because I'll tell you, I can get the thing to work for about 50 miles after an ECU reset, but then the AFRs creep back to 12:1.

I'm also working with GreenPsycho. The shop installing his SDS system has also noticed the eM isn't doing what it's supposed to across the band, so they're gonna be spending some time working on it for him.
