Porting Out.

Okay i have a friend who is friends with some one who i just found out has his own business (a machine shop). Now that i know that i am going to get my engine ported out to get ready for my turbo . + i am going to get it specifically ported out to handle a turbo (if that means anything) and i need to know if that is a good decision because i am not going to get my turbo for another 5 months. Also need to know if there are some other adjustments i should do before or after i do this process?

Port the intake side bigger than the exhaust. Bored fuel rail and fuel pressure regulator would help also a ported tb and intake mani scince your porting the head. Headers are a must.

yeah headers are definitely a must, and since you're going turbo, you might as well just go ahead and get the rrm headers. as for supporting mods for the turbo, you will need the intake mani, bored tb, and upgraded fuel system.

ONLY IF YOU USE RRM'S KIT. I swear nobody ever mentions that. While it's easily the most popular it is far from the only option out there.

MOST turbo setups do not use a "header", they use a dedicated turbo manifold which replaces the header.

i apologize that i made the mistake of mot mentioning getting the header only if you are going with RRM kit. but if he was getting a manifold, im sure he would have mentioned it. good luck with the turbo.

Here I am trying to figure out what on the engine he is going to "port" out .... doing this would be pointless unless you have something to maximise the gains (like why port the IM if you dont have a bigger TB?).

I should ask this question: what exactly are you going to port?

porting the head really wont do much for you. the cost is not worth the performance from what i've been told... just get the g93 IM and port dat sheit to hell and get the RRM ported TB instead, unless u already have that i duno. GL.
