Please - for the love of GOD - search on swaps for the lancer RPW has a great section on swaps and i think they will MORE than help you out. If you wanted to swap in a honda engine, you should have bought a used honda in the first place. No one is talking like mistubishi is the best thing since sliced bread but - good god - you're on a MITSUBISHI FORUM. Think about it.

I think there has only been one person who created a "SWAP" thread actually try it. The rest of the other 100 threads were people who were all talk. Prove us wrong PLEASE! FOR THE LOVE OF EVOM, PROVE US WRONG! Do the evo swap.

A bunch of people have started prep work for them. All that I know of have run out of money/thought better of it. None have tried such an impractical swap.

Remember, this kid came in asking if it would be possible to do a swap. Not that he had started or was going to do it for sure. Since when did evoM become a place that you can't talk in the theoretical about an idea. I remember when it was only an idea to put a 3g94 mani on a 4g94. I know that is a much easier swap than anything being discussed but just an example.

All I'm saying is let him ask what he wants and stop attacking this thread. When/If he posts that he has started to do a swap, then jump on him about it. Till then, why not just talk the ideas behind it.

He stated that he wanted to do it because it would be more cost effective than building the 4g94. That is not true. Theory is fine, but once money comes into play it's an entirely different story. I'm sure you could put just about any small to medium size motor in the Lancer, however the amount/cost of labor would FAR outweigh the benefits. The H22 would be just as expensive as pretty much any more exotic or higher HP motor (such as the 6a12 as done by RPW), but it'd provide far less in terms of power.

That is very true Hobie and I ment no disrespect towards you. You have posted very honestly and informatively as I would expect from a member of your standing. I agree with you about money and have tried to make that point as well. As always, your knowlege is helpful and I did not mean my coments towards members such as yourself. it's the onces who just post once and leave the thread that i was aiming at.

this is the gayest engine thread ever. if he wants a honda he can just sell his lancer and buy an old civic hatch. then with the left over money swap in the h22. he gets his h22 and we get rid of him. best of both worlds. too much crack for this kid

I just keep hoping it's a joke, but I feel sort of obligated to at least keep him from pissing away his money.

let him **** his money away andrew.

and i need to rant here. Im tried of people cracking on mitsu engines. They have just as much potential has honda engines... if you went and bought a civic dx you would be in the same damn boat with the stock engine as you are with the lancer... and with less trq (b/c of displacement). And the only reason people thing honda engines are god like above other car companies is b/c they use the same engines all over the world (for the most part). While companies like mitsu dont bring over a lot of their pimp **** cars... just take mivec for example everyone thinks they copied honda's vtec when infact mivec has been around just as long if not longer then vtec. As a matter of fact mitsu held the hp per liter record with mivec for awhile. thats just my .02. and im not bashing on hondas at all... they are a great platform to work with, im jsut tired of ppl bashing on us and our engines

Quite frankly, I think a lot of the Mitsubishi powerplants are overlooked too. The 4g63 is hands down their star, but the 6a12 (from the FTO), 4g93, 4g94 and the 4g64 are largely overlooked. The simple fact is that the engines are what you make of them, but any of these would be a fine place from which to begin modding.

seriously why is everyone hateing on him for sayin that ? maybe like most of us we bought it for the looks not knowing that it had a SOCH engine in it i feel the guy.and to say the least the lancer platform has a better stock chassis than most hondas out there why would you critisis a guy who wants a cheaper route for power yes it takes alot of time and effort to do swaps i would totally want a 4g63 in my car but it isnt gonna happen anytime soon. the engine bay is huge with some skills in welding and auto tech you can do it **** i love my car to death with the semi stock engine in it but if you want to put h22 go for it they'll be alot of ppl later wanting to know how you did it **** make some profit FLUCK it just dont forget to shave any mitsu symble off the car this will just make it a frame and chassis no more ridicuel.

I don't know about on the current Lancer generation. There are few people who dropped the 612A on the Mirage with little modification.
