Engine And Tranny Swap
Engine And Tranny Swap
I Was Reding On Engine Swaps And Somebody Mentioned A B16 Or 18 Swap For The Lancer Is This True Has It Been Done And What About Stepping Up To The H22.and Has Anybody Found A Aluminum Radiator For The Lancer.
Hahahah wrong car and wrong forum..... Those are Honda engines. Why in the world would anyone want to do something like that. I don't hate Hondas, but seems silly. If you cannot afford an Evo, then rebuild the engine. Pistons, Rods, Valves, Spring and Retainers, then freaking Turbo the car and you got a major Sleeper, But don't down grade to those engines.

Unless you have a limitless money supply, it simply is not feasible, plus there would be the whole problem of running a honda engine in a mitsubishi, sure they have more horsepower, but torque?
I've never heard of a successful swap of ANY motor into a Lancer. The closest I've heard of was a Mirage (G93) had a G94 swapped in but that's not saying much because they're practically the same engine.
Not gonna make a big deal out of it: a quick search will yield a lot of results.

if you put a honda motor into your ***in lancer(no matter how much you say honda is better) i will part my car outm and leave this community in shame, for the love of mitsubishis anywhere in this world, have some love for you car, otherwise, go and buy a honda
Man Its Just A Question Yall Ack Like Yall Were Sworn In By The Mittsubishi Gods.i Dont Know About Yall But I Dont Like Having Outragous Prices For Parts Becouse Hardly Nobody Makes Stuff For The Lancer.and Its Not A Very Strong Engine
several have tried, of those most claim that it will be easy. None have shown us a completed swap. The most recent was by Illuminati with his evo 6.5 swap. He was about $7K into the project (oh wait, he had to buy the engine, so it's closer to $9k) and untold hours of mechanic labor, custom fabrication, etc and no dice. He came on here with the shop guys and they all said "ten days. Tops" 6 weeks after that he stopped posting the problems they were having. It's been 8 months and no confirmed swap.
I'm not saying it's impossible, or that it won't happen in the next couple years. But it sems like Mitsu goes out of thier way to prevent swaps. I'm not going to go into all of the engine/tranny/starter motor/ ECU compatibility problems but a search will hip you to most of the major issues. So I AM saying it will be a ridiculously expensive, time consuming, problematic process, and you'd probably be happier just going with a turbo or supercharger. and building hte engine and drivetrain.

Seeing as no one has been able to swap any motor into a lancer yet, I would say don't even think of it. Not looking at power or what is better or not, the fact is that it would take some major custom fab work to get it all working right. If you do a honda swap to a lancer, it is just because you want to prove it can be done. It would be more cost effective to look into super or turbo for the kind of money we are talking. Either way, good luck and you will get alot of these posts of people talking bs just cause you asked. As for the radiator, can't say I have seen one ever.
On a side not, please don't capitalize the first letter of every word. At the very least it will save you time. I just happen to find it a pain to read.
