You can still buy them in stores for around $200.00. There are even places that sell them for $350.00
HKS came out with a smaller unit with no screen just a knob to adjust the air fuel ratio.

^You are right. It was/is discontinued but stores are still selling them. I'm not sure how it works but the places I have called said, "yeah sure we have it".

If there is anything you guys want to see as far as pics let me know.

bump for help

http://www.hksusa.com/info/download.asp?id=1632
^here is the link for the manual how to set up HKS unit.

I cannot figure out what is the "response function" for????
It says that it's to adjust the initial throttle response of the engine. OK? So can I set it up as high as possible and light up some rubber every time I hit the gas?
I wouldn't do that but how is it supposed to help me get some performance???

This is one of the negative points of this product, no info!!! Before I bought it I spent 2week (HONESTLY) on google trying to look up some info. DSM forum had some info but not enough. I called HKS today but they told me to take it for a dyno?!

"The response function, similar to the one in the VPC, allows for adjustments to the fuel settings upon throttle inputs to improve drivability and performance. Much like the corrections made to the idle mixture to compensate for high-lift cams and/or larger injections, the response function can also compensate for differences in fuel requirements upon initial throttle input as airflow characteristics are changed from high-lift cams, larger injectors, and bigger turbos. In detail, the response function allows for management of engine response in milliseconds with six points of air meter signal adjustment between 650 and 5000 RPM that can be randomly moved in 50-RPM increments."

But what does all of this mean???

N1te I don't think anyone knows the answer for this one. I have searched all of over google just to find the answer and after raping all the web pages I'm still confused.

It's sounds like something that would help you after installing aftermarket camshaft. When it gives you more air due to more aggressive grid you need more fuel and that fuel needs to strike fast in order to not hesitate the engine. It sort of takes away the job from aftermarket fuel pressure regulators.

But it's only a guess.

ok... to the OP since you've installed yours already... ( i just got one and will probably install it this weekend) I have the HKS manual and pretty much have it down for the wiring.. BUT what the heck is the other plug for?? the one w/ the white wire looped around the harness and goes right back into the same plug? i see in the pic that you have it too... so what did you do w/ it, cuz its not part of the wiring install? and i can't find a definition for the blue wire?
