Not to change the topic entirely, but what about Boni's car? Was that not the first USDM turbo car, well besides the Modern Image car? Wonder what hes running. Oh yea, what ever happened to that car being in Sport Compact Car? I thoguth Rob said that might happen, but I mean thats like a year ago.....

 

actually i believe i was the first turbo lancer with my mirage kit conversion. i had it on in FEB/MARCH of 02....MI's lancer was announced in April 02 in super street or sumthing i think.

 

Yea, Im sorry Z, forgot about you. I remember all those posts you had trying to get that thing to work correctly. By the way, I really like the interior work you had done. Not my style, but very sharp indeed.

I've heard of your problems but a custom job often has them Z. Anyway, i'm hoping to be up there, at least within the top 5, as far as Fastest lancer goes. With a little bit of checking and well investigated boosting levels we shall see just how fast i will go. After all my rods/no intercooler are my only downfalls right now. We'll see though. Carlsbad raceway is just 40mins away and this Saturday is seeming like the right time weather wise to go. Now just need some cash?? Damn car broke me

Boe, with your internals you should be able to push the boost fairly high...thinking of getting an intercooler?

 

He still has stock con rods. That'd worry me far more than pistons personally.

 

I saw something about rods in his sig and I thought he had new ones....gotcha...

 

Hobie's right, though i've shot peened the rods i wont be pushing the engine more than 10lbs on them. Over that and you'll be asking for it. Soon i'll be investigating higher boost for 1/4 mile/racing. Seems at 7lbs non-intercooled my temps are still quite low. Might be due to port/polish and intake mods? Will test and if ok will go dual stage taking off at 6 and then going to whatever high limit ends up being. Since less than 15 seconds it shouldn't be a prob to push higher boost like 10 non intercooled... but not all day only in 1/4 mile/race. Will post my findings...Later
