Running lean? Oh crap.

Ok went and did a dyno pull got my print out and raised an eyebrow at the AFR.

Apparently i am running lean according to their wideband so i am now a little nervous. Car runs good 95% of the time but does have a hole in the fuel map i think. Lugs for a sec when pulling full thottle. From what i have heard this is normal tho. Also i have been getting a CEL occasionaly. Code is cyl 2 misfire.

Perhaps i should get my own wideband and datalogger and maybe get rid of Piggy? I hope i dont have to get rid of piggy. Ive had it for over 2 years and havent had any problems yet so im a little confused.

help please

Holy crap. How do you not blow up?

To be honest, I question those readings. That's some HIGH A/F ratios. Maybe get a WB and find out exactly what you're running?

Did you do any recent mods to change your A/F. Im by far not a genius, but I had good A/F for a year and a half running Turbo XS Utech. I then went with higher mods and had problems with a solid tune. I then proceeded to get the AEM ems with a wideband losing the MAF and absolutely love my car. Should have my dyno sheet up by next week to back it up.

Gotta straighten out that AF line......i'd be scurred.

that was my dyno. same day, same place. i've got wideband and their results were pretty accurate compared to my readings. i'm also running with RRM PB ECU but i'm not running that lean. which version are you using? have you changed the map? and when you start pulling the misfire code, when does it come on? is it after running the car hard?

Im running version 1 no i have not changed the map and i started pulling the misfire code when i installed it. Only get the code in cold weather tho.

the AF on my dyno run is so high tho i dont think it was reading right. With an AF like that shouldnt it be knocking like a motherf---er and acting up like all hell?

the only way to find out, excluding wideband, is to pull your plugs. check out greg's sticky on it. it'll tell you everything you need to know about reading plugs.

that's with 2 really bad exhaust leaks. if i fix those up, optimisticly, i'd hope to see better numbers.

The A/F readings at a shop will be slightly leaner than what you are actually running. They use a sniffer at the tail pipe, which is pretty far from the engine itself and is behind your cat. That will yeild a leaner reading. From what I have seen (I have a WBO2) is that the sniffer reads about 1-1.5 leaner than what you would get from a WBO2.

Thanx. Thats what i thought. about the sniffer. The guys at the shop didnt seem all that concerned that it was running so lean.
