But the question is: SYNTHETIC OR REGULAR I was thinking synthetic and sacrifice doulbing the cost because after all i want the best. But I want to hear what you guys think and is currently using. THANKS FOR UR HELP IN ADVANCE.

Synthetic, hands down. There isn't even a debate here.

Glad you made that decision! The only debate should be, Mobil 1 vs Pennzoil vs Valvoline, etc.

I'd say regular - I don't think you'll notice it either way and I doubt it will make a significant difference to the running of the car, even down the road...

You're not likely to notice a difference except at the cashier at Auto Zone (or wherever).

That probably had more to do with your needing to change your oil in general than changing to synthetic. Did you stick with the same weight oil?

Major difference in smoothness when I started using Castrol Syntec. Like freshly buttered bread. And it is quieter. Also I did this for the first time when it was new with about 700 miles (I think) on it, so need of an oil change wasnt a factor in the new found quiet and smoothness.

Changed my oil today to mobil 1....

Engine runs quieter at cruising speeds and 'cleaner' at high rpms....

Hate to say it, but I'd say any smoothness or quiet that people experience with it is probably a psychological thing. You paid twice as much for it so your head will try to justify it with your expectations.

Maybe not, and great for you, but I wouldn't change back to normal or even a blend now. I've heard that starting to use synthetic kinda locks you into it and switching back can cause problems or wear issues...
