Water Puddle, No start
Drove in into deep deep water puddle. Car turned off, a little of oil came out. Cold air intake wet, i took it off still didn't start. Towed my car to my house for 180... Now... what happened anyone? Electrical too wet? please let be it???
damn...cold air intake+puddle=dead...motor...most likely you hydrolocked your motor...in short term your motor seized up!!!...i would recommend you to turn your crank manually though to double check if it still turns...if it still does then check for shorts(sensors)...let us know about updates!!!!

I would take the plugs out and turn it over. If theres enough water in it it will squirt out, like a jetski. You have to leave the plugs out and let everything evaporate. See if it starts then. And if it runs without knocking or banging change the oil. If not, pump up the tires on your Huffy or get some comfotable walking shoes.
I actually almost did the same thing. Well i did, but luckily the engine was ok. There is a notorious spot by my school where you cant see the puddle until its too late and its a crap shoot whether its 1" deep or 6" deep. So i drove through it by accident, immediately my car started to bog down, wouldnt hold an idle, so i pulled off the street into a parking lot. The car would not idle without holding down the gas, during which time white smoke was pouring out of my exhaust, luckily within a minute or two the smoke stopped, the idle resumed and the car was perfectly fine. I was on my way to a lewis black concert too, i would have been pissed to miss it because of my stupidity! Needless to say after that i took off the CAI and went right back to short ram. And now i'm turbo so it dont matta none
Definately take the plugs out, try to crank a few times, leave the hood open on a hot sunny day for a while and let everything dry out, then try again, while you're at it just go ahead and change the oil just incase. Heres hoping for the best, if not then welcome to the pedestrian world

well luckily you didn't suck up that much water and the enging was able to evaporate it. As for SMOKU, seems there was alot of water consumption that lead to hydrolock. There's another thread around as well where a young woman happen to have the same encounter, but she ended up breaking a piston or something.
You guys/girls gotta be more careful w/ them puddles.

i had that problem before where it would not start... but i think it was cranking back then. now at night it didnt want to crank. would that be cause electrical parts got too wet?

OK OK it does not want to crank because you have at least one cylinder full of water and it is compressed as far as it can go. The engine is siezed. Take the plugs out. It will let the water out which is seizing the motor. and yes the motor can crank with no oil but I would not reccomend it.
Quick question Smoku, do have a bypass valve on your CAI? I keep reading these threads about hydrolock and CAI, and I always wonder if people are using these bypass valves. To me, they would be worth the money
man hydrolocking a motor sucks. on my friends bronco, we pulled the air box and intake tubes off to let that excess water out and then replaced the spark plugs and it fired back up.
