i dont think its hydrolock, what is it?
i have an SRI and also a ViS Evo hood while i was in the car wash it died because of the water getting into the vents. i let it sit for a like 15 minutes and she finally started, but now with "CEL" am i screwed? i dont know a whole lot about engines but i know that "CEL" isnt good. any help would be good...
Its not hydro'd or she woudnt have started again that quickly. You probably sucked a little tiny bit of water into the MAF sensor and now youve thrown a code. Take it to autozone or something and have them pull the code to see what it means.
Aye, doesent sound like hyrdo lock.
BEsides what walkingchaos said, you might of shorted a sensor. I'd go with the MAF though.
I know when I hydrolocked my Eagle Talon TSi it wouldent start- it would sputter and shot out water out the tail pipe accompied by some white smoke 8-)
BUT I did get it to run fine for a week till I sent the piston to the oil pan, so I'd suggest maybe doing a cylinder purge?
Shoot off fuel pump, disconnect coil packs, and remove spark plugs and crank about twice.
I know it may seem like over-doing, but better safe then sorry
I learned my lesson at 18 with my car =D Although, I'm starting to think it was crank walk haha
When we took the block apart the crank was FUBAR

disconnect the maf sensor wire... start the car, rev it a couple of times. Disconnect battery and let ECU reset. Connect batter, Connect MAF Sensor wire and then start car and let it re-learn again. Should work. I used to do this all the time and when I had a CAI.
it's not good, but it works.
