Well the problem for me is lancers are relatively rare up here, modded lancers even more so, and with only 4 speed shops in town I don't have a lot of choices in terms of places to do the tuning.

I have the same problem. There is nowhere for me to go get it tuned unless I want to drive about 90 miles.

I keep forgetting to ask, how will this affect gas mileage.

I'm still torn, since both routes have advantages. With a piggyback you have flexibility and the ability to be completely customized while a reflash allows for ease of use and things like a raised rev limiter.

How'd you get a reflash? See that's the kind of info I like, I can see your point if there's no power in the upper band.

That is where the cam comes in...and the tuning. The ECU would have to be tuned up in that range to harness the power since the regular map is not tuned at that rpm since you are never supposed to be there in the first place. (long sentence )

How similar is similar to the Mirage cam?

I also have a question about the one cam fits all as it has been shown that autos respond differently to a particular cam profile than the manual. How are you planning to address that issue?

thanks for the input wadad.

im hoping for a possitive response from rock. i suppose with the cam and the rev limiter raised, u could have a much faster car in the top end. i have had a friend personally put a mirage cam into the lancer and he ran emanage.

he was stock other than an intake and cam + tuning.

i had just intake and exhuast atthe time and he pulled on my by 5 cars by the time i hit 6O. sadness for me.

With this new mod Lancer are going to take a big step in WHP gains with out the Cam a NA lancer is limited to maybe 125whp and thats heavily modded now with the cam that 125 should turn into 135 - 140whp to me thats a huge difference it's like racing Civic's and Corolla's to racing Tiburon's and RSX's.

Piggy will be fine. Even without anything, stock ECU should compensate mostly for the cam.

ROCK may get mad at me for this but...

The designers of the cam used the Mirage cam for basis... they found that it robbed low end power in the 4G94 and it's power came on at around 5000rpm. This doesn't due well for the 4G94 setup. So they played with the duration/lift and found a perfect marriage for our application.

The changes were enough to put the power range into a more usefull realm and not negate low end. One supprising achievement was around 3.5k rpms. If you look at most lancer dyno's right around that area there's a drop in both TQ and HP. It's weird... but it's there. The new cam eliminates that area.

The designer's stated that the dip in that location would cause bogging during shifts... funny. A lot of people complain about that and the piggy helped solve some of it. Imagine what the piggy and this cam will due if that area is eliminated!!
