4g93 intake manifold - please help!

hi guys.

have any of you that have a 4g93 intake manifold or bored 94 intake manifold on your lancers ever had, or heard of a problem with the car jerking or lurching at 1800RPMs?

ever since i got my RPW 4g93 intake manifold/60mm throttle body and CAI installed, the car has a strange new feature. when i am cruising (at any speed) and i hit 1800rpms and try to hold it (to criuse), the car feels like someone is punching the accelerator and letting it off over and over. - no fuel?

I got an emanage installed, and tuned to try and fix the problem, but it persists.

if it means anything, it gets much worse when the car is hot, after driving in peak hour traffic for 40minutes on my way to or from work.

on top of the fun i have trying to keeping it steady at criuising speeds. after it is warmed up, it starts to get a really really rough idle which gets worse and worse until eventually one time when i take off it will stall, no matter how hard i try to keep it alive.

RPW has tried adjusting the tps, adjusting the idle, paying more attention to 1800rpms with the emanage tuning (while i drove it down the freeway), but nothing seems to make a difference.

if i accellerate past 1800rpms i dont even notice it, like its not there, but in peak hour, at 25kms/hr its a real hassle. even at 60kms in 3rd i hit 1800rpms, or 4th@1800rpms, it does not matter, all gears, only at 1800rpms.

any ideas or thoughts greatly appreciated. this one is driving me nuts!

If I were you I'd go ahead and reinstall the stock parts and see if that helps. If it does then the problem has something to do with the aftermarket parts. If you put all of the parts on at the same time you might want to put one part on at a time to see which one is the cause of the problem.

I have the 4g93 IM and my idle jumps from 600-900 all the time. It's really annoying when you are at a stop light and your car revs and you aren't the one reving the car... espically when you are next to a mom in a minivan. I've also tried to adjust the idle and nothing helps. I really think that it's the intake mani. I have yet to have a serious stall or anything like you described though.

could just be a bad spot on the tps. a check with the oscilloscope would tell.

if rpw installed the manifold, then i wouldn't think it'd be installed wrong. i usually recommend checking the order you bolted on the manifold nuts.

other than that, i guess it's just bad resonance in the intake system.

and i don't think a piggy would help. that is what is an emanage is anyways.

thanks guys.

so the best way for me to troubleshoot this would be:
1. check the tps with oscilloscope to rule that out
2. re-install a stock manifold to see if the problem goes away.

if its the tps, can i just get a new one from mitsu?

bad resonance in the intake? is that like turbulence in the air somewhere?
would that mean a bad combo of CAI, tb & im then? cause people have success with the 4g93 intake mani and people have success with the 60mm throttle body, and people have success with CAI's. but maybe no body has had the same combo as me?

the only thing i can think i would have different to you guys is maybe the RPW 3" CAI (originally for magnas) relocating the MAS sensor and K&N oval pod into the bumper.

thanks for your help guys. appreciate it.
