exhust...taking off...
yeah, you are reducing back pressure which isnt a good thing, wont really help out with the power department cause you still have your 2 cat. converters on. If anything you are gonna lose low end torque.
one of the cats is in the header so unless you get new headers taking that off isnt an option. alot of people are getting test pipes to remove the main cat. This one you can remove but toss back on your muffler (or atleast get an after market higher flowing muffler).
The stock muffler is far less of a restrictor than the 2" piping, pre-cat (in the header) and catalytic converter. If you're looking for a free flowing exhaust you'd benefit far more by spending the money (i.e. aftermarket header, downpipe (kamikaze and RPW headers include downpipes), high flow cat or test pipe (personally I'd recommend a high flow despite the cost difference for emissions and smell purposes, and a cat-back exhaust (custom or bolt-on). Of course without breathing mods you'll probably just lose torque.

And also to note do you really want to be dumping hot exhaust right underneath the car like that? No tsure where the gas tank is on those things but it is something to take into consideration. Just a safety note.
