concerning horsepower

Dont bash or make fun of me, but i was curious is it possible for a lancer es to produce around 300 hp w/o the need of going turbo?

Just a question

thanks

i wanna say no, but depending on unlimited funds...maybe, but just barely, and by that time, you'll have spent well over $10,000. Might as well have gone turbo by then

Sure, if you found a way to drop a small block v8 or a v6 into the car. NA is not an imports friend, even hondas don't regularly break 300 hp NA without the aid of nitrous or insane engine work (cams from hell, high octane tune, etc.).

Not on the 4g94 which is the one in the car... Engine swap like Amby said or go FI.

Ive seen numbers thrown around about max N/A power out of the 4g94. Those numbers seem to hang around 180 whp.

I'd be surprised at 180 whp NA on a lancer, at least on a street-driven lancer. Maybe with a stage 4 racing cam, racing ported head, 11:1 or 11.5:1 pistons and an insane, high octane tune you could get it, but anywhere below 5000 RPM it'd be a dog.

Right. On just bolt ons, streetable mods with a tune I would say realisticly you could fetch 140-150 whp

Edit:

Amby- You have almost every engine bolt on, do you know what kind of power you are putting down?

Not sure what I'm putting down, haven't bothered to get it dynoed yet. Eventually I will, when I have the time. I would guess like 130-140 hp or so.

C'mon, man, even miragers don't even think THAT high.

Whatever H&A HB's had done in the past for NA is out of reach for the G9x block, unless you WANT to spend as much as them.

Just like reading on the net of G92 MIVEC turbo'ed cyborg and 6a12 MIVEC turbo'ed FTO, the owners don't own their car too long. Why build a car so much to scrape or sell your project within a year? Must caught minitruck mental disease.
