so w/the stage 1 turbo my car should be somewhere in between 171hp - 192hp.
what determines a 170hp turbo car from the 190hp car, extra mods, different years?

also if i do decide to go turbo, do you guys think it's worth it with an auto?

and does everything come with the kit that i will need and will I be able to install it myself?

EDIT: whats the difference between an exhaust tip and a muffler?

Chance, honestly. Some cars make more power with the same mods than others. Actually, some cars make more power bone-stock than others. It's just random chance.

It's very worth it to turbo an auto.

Depends on where you buy the kit. If you get RRM's, you're set. If you get the TSI kit, you'll need to do some work. If you get the RPW (Accolade), I'm not sure.

Muffler is the big thing that cancels the noise. Exhaust tip is the little tip that sticks out behind the car. For example, I had a bling Autozone exhaust tip until I bought a new axleback exhaust.

I know I may not be the most mechanically inclined, but wouldn't a muffler shop sell mufflers?

Stay in the phonebook, Tiger. There's usually lots of places like "Metro Muffler" whatever little places. Or Midas or Meineke, as I recall...

from what i read here the cheapest but most effective way to get a exhaust will be custom made. Buying a brand name does the same thing

A muffler/exhaust shop will have performance mufflers, alot have Magnaflow. Whatever they have will be just what you need usualy, without the noise. Otherwise there are a million places you can buy a real good sounding fart cannon (I love that term). Look online, performance stores like Summit Racing, hell you can probably get one at WallMart. My advice still stands, don't worry about the exhaust too much right now. A muffler might not be that expensive, but you will get that when it is time to do the whole exhaust.

you'll use a exhaust manifold for the turbo. no headers. and yes a hfc and catback will help.
with the turbo.
