Full exhaust?

now that my lancer looks normal (somewhat) im looking into performance mods
next up i want to put in full exhaust and when i look on ebay, i see a few results pop-up for an 02 lancer such as the greddy and the n1 exhaust system. what company is best for a good exhaust system, what all will i need (just the 3 pieces??) and how much should i be looking to spend?

i want a nice sound, not the tin-can sound you see on most civics, and a decent boost in power. any advice is appreciated :P

The eBay n1 and tsudo exhausts are pretty big. 2.5'' I know someone who has one and he says it's real real loud but has a real nice tone to it. They are about 225 w/shipping. But if I were you I would get the magnaflow cat back. No "pieces" to it. You buy all of it at once. It has a nice tone and isn't as loud as the n1 by far. Expect to pay around 400. performancepeddler.com has them for cheaper. Be sure to talk them down.

I have the greddy Evo2 and love it... Even with a header and all it's not loud at all... Only when it is WOT is it loud... I think I paid around $400 for it, but got a great deal... And that system is a complete cat-back...

And as far as pieces, if you want to do a complete set from header back, you'll need a header and high flow cat... Maybe a down pipe depending on what header you have... And the greddy kit will complete the rest...

you dont need them, really depends on what you want to do... You can go with just the exhaust now and upgrade later...

^^^^+1 You wont be happy with the performance results of that exhaust at all unless you do the other breather mods first, trust me, I know from when I put my Magnaflow on before I did TB, IM, and Header. You lose alot of torque when you just put the exhaust on first. I had the RR Piggy V1 and I still felt the power loss. Put that money right on the engine first. If you really want to be smart about it put that money towards a turbo. The exhaust is just not as necessary as some think!!!

He is right... I put my RPW Header and Downpipe, Magnaflow cat, and Greddy Exhaust on when all I had on the intake end was just a K&N Typhoon intake... It was noticeable that I loss some low end power... Have the Intake manifold in and just waiting to get my Throttle body in... We will see how it goes...

^^Agree, if you're looking for a power boost an exhaust will only dissapoint. Even with all the breather mods the difference isn't exactly outstanding.

Look at the guys comments and his join date, either he just got his first ride or first Lancer. Not really thinking he going the turbo route. But yeah breathing mods are a most have. Intake w/ K&N, Greddy catback, then then the Spilt Second V.2 piggy to top it off. All easy mods and together under a grand.

What I'm saying though, is an SRI, Catback, and RR Piggy 1 or 2 isn't the best way to go at first. Piggy maybe, and an Intake is fine, but then go TB, IM, header, and crank pulley, this is a good basic N/A route without getting into the internals. Knowing what I know now, exhaust would be the last thing I would do. All those mods combined will give you some pretty noticeable performance gains, but it takes ALL of them! I also am a big fan of RPW FPR. The thing is though, if you got to do all that, you can just about get a turbo with no other mods and be way better off for gains. Its too late for me, I'm just trying to save others.

lotta doggin on the exhaust. here's my opinion.

this made a nice difference. some of yall say you lost low end torque, maybe it was the system you chose. i agree on the intake end of things a cai will help better than coupling a cat back with headers on a stock car. makin it breath better on both ends will prove more effective than just all intake or all exhaust at once.
