Torque..
Dyno confirms it. I think it's like 108 hp to the wheels on a manual lancer. Take the extra loss associated with the auto tranny and you're at about 100 hp. In strict terms, all mods will increase torque, it's just a matter of where on the powerband. Turbo is obviously the biggest thing, but definitely open up the intake side (intake manifold, throttle body, intake), do some fuel mods (fuel rail and maybe FPR), exhuast mods (long runner header, catback exhaust, keep the cat) and maybe some tranny mods (I think Level Ten makes aftermarket torque converters to increase the efficiency of the transmission). A tune is probably a good idea as well. If you want to go further, high compression pistons, ported head and a camshaft would be necesssary. After that I have no idea.
The Lancer is rated 120hp/trq at the crank from the factory. Power is loss through the drivetrain; that is why your putting down only 100hp/trq at the wheels.
What ambystom01 is saying is true.
Remember that power is nothing unless you can put it on the road efficiantly. So I say get a better(ligther and wider) wheel/tire package. Make better use of the power you have to work with

you've been punked LOLOL j/k i actually meant level 10 Sorry LOLOLOL
i was lookin at the a2 site at the same time... case of A2 on the brain
Making the intake track longer increases torque (I believe). Therefore, a cold air intake would, in theory, increase torqe. Exhaust mods usually yield HP results and decrease torque numbers.
The previous post was correct to say that any power-giving mod increases torque, it just depends on where in the rev band. It's all based on the HP formula and the magical 5252.

lol thanks. oh well. there converter is like a grand though. not to mention the install
Going turbo for you is like jumping off into the deep end. Don't do it. At lesat not yet. If you are asking questions about SRIs and intakes you shouldn't be playing with forced induction. That's just my personal opinion. Perhaps research the topic more and figure out a game plan and upgrade strategy.
All the bolt on mods in the world will not make the Lancer all that fast, I know as I have more than half of what is offered. Going turbo is the only way to safely extract horsepower and torque, period. In the long run though you have to decide what you are going to do.
