Take a look at the pic, and you'll see the MAS all the way at the top. I believe it mounts in it's stock location, since you're just removing that obnoxiously huge airbox.

Its all good. I got Road/Race intake, exhaust, t.p. shifter, and throttle body. Bet I got it all for less than your intake and cat-back. My car is way F@#$n faster now. I am ready for any of you all! Turbo in six months, all the stuff I have will be usable with Roadrace turbo too.

All about bang for the buck!

Not that you're wrong, but if your car breaks down due to any of those parts, he's gonna come out the financial winner. Having your warranty fully intact is a good way to save money too in some respects.

And especially with a car in its first production run in the US, I find it really hard to fault people for wanting to keep their parts under warranty.

Warranty
• Intake is intake. They would probably think mine is your RMR one anyway.
• Exhaust is exhaust. No warranty issue
• throttle body is stock one bored and matched. No problem. If they measured it they might figure it out. Dealer shmucks won't figure it out anyway. It looks exactly the same.
Test Pipe -I go to dealer with my stock cat. It is only in place with 4 bolts holding on.

Many members say dealers don't even know who RMR is. If they choose not to sell it, the reason is because they choose not to honor warranty. That is why so many dealers don't sell RMR. That is it.
I like my way better.:headbng2: :headbng2:

Needless to say I agree with J. I think if you're going to mess with a warranty that's more at their discretion than yours, you should either go completely off or completely with it. After my first service...::gulp:: I'm going off.

I have no idea where you all got the warranty info. I got my parts from CAlifornia from the dealer listed on RMR, and the guy told me that it might void my warranty. This was just the intake! I talked to the guy in charge there too, so it wasnt some lackey. Heres the best part though, I was told by my favorite (sarcasm is sooo fun) Mitsu dealer Max Madson Mitsu in Illinois that if I put Eibach springs on my car the warranty is gone. Im tired of this warranty BS, I should have gotten a 99 civic and not had to worry bout this crap.

Your dealer's just being a *****. When I find some concrete warranty protection info I'll post it. Till then, sit tight and feel secure that, as long as your aftermarket parts don't affect the problem, your warranty will remain intact.

ya.this warranty **** is such bs....we should all find some evidence and when someone gets in trouble with warranty we could bail him out and show the goddam dealer that it wont void it.

Basically the dealership can refuse service, but technically they're not supposed to. You can always try another dealership if they're available (I have 3 within 20 milesd or so, excluding NYC dealerships) so that may be more of an option to some than others.

Regardless, as I understand it (and please correct me if I'm wrong)they dealerships get reimbursed for the work they do on warranteed cars, so if you maybe pointed out nicely to them they'd get paid by mitsu for the work and that you wanna keep your business with THEM, maybe they'd be a little more willing.

And, TriStar, if you get those eibach springs and your transmission goes, the springs would have to work really hard to interfere with the tranny. Pretty much I guess I'm just saying to tell that dealer to go f himself and go somewhere where they appreciate the business. I'm already ranting, so I'll stop at this for now.

Well, remember that little problem with my lights? First, it wasn't the relay/junction box, it was actually a f'n fuse under the hood, which, of course, isn't documented in the owner's manual. So all of that for a fuse. Blah. Then he tried to blame it on my head unit, which was installed 2 weeks before I f'd with the lights (when it broke) and I then laughed loudly before hastily driving away.

Anyways, I didn't have any problem with my warranty today. That's with RMR intake, exhaust/cat, and a short shifter that I did myself. Not that it would really matter, especially since my dealer seems to be the "home of the RMR OZ editions" ... each time I've been in there, I've seen some tricked out OZ's... it's funny, the one in there now has 17" Engei's, but no RMR parts... tiny little exhaust. I wonder where these are going... haven't seen any modded OZ's on the road, though, besides the one plastikpyro (mah homie) drives.

This info = < $0.01

RMR or RRM.. rrm all the way.

just got my RRM intake put in today.. 99 bucks opposed to 170.. all thats missing is the heat shield.. i know for a fact my warranty with MY dealer isnt voided..could be different at you guys'.. it would pretty much be an issue of them saying that my intake caused the problem..
just another satisfied customer of RRM.. and i will return in the future to further add things to my AUTOMATIC (lol..) OZ rally

rmr a better deal

hey bro i think rmr is a far better deal, for one its only 120 versus the other one for 99, but for 120 you get the heat sheild, so id rather fork out a few, bucks more. and you know what else that injen one wont fit an automatic.

Bang-for-buckwise they're pretty much the same minus the heat shield and filter size (RMR AND RRM). Injen doesn't even make the list as much as I . As much as I love RRM and, and as much as they're the poor tuner's best friend, RMR may have them beat with the whole warranty issue. God forbid something does go wrong who knows what kind of annoyances people will have to go through. I don't want to say "I can't wait for it to happen", because it'll probably happen to me the week after I install my Injen, but I'm wondering how dealerships will react once most of us start bringing our Lancers back with aftermarket parts for service and especially repairs. I know we've seen a little of both rejection and tolerance on the forums already.

On a side note, I don't think most of the people moding their cars with CAI's are driving automatics, but I know there's already been one or two.
