about injectors..

is there such a thing has having the fuel pressure too high? maybe on a stock pump, but how bout a upgraded pump? what are the risks? as in upgraded pump, i mean the eclipse GSX pump.

hehe, maybe with a higher pressure the injectors will never get dirty.

I would think that at a higher pressure ur injectors would not get as dirty as fast. maybe thats just me.

You would be putting unnneccesary stress on you fuel system not to mention running rich.

hehe, yep, i did that. but what i meant was that i have an adjustable pressure regulator set at GSX stock fuel pressure (43psi) and was wondering what the dangers were for having them higher, at say maybe 50 psi or so. changing the pump doesn't necessarily raise the system pressure, but rather can keep the system pressure constant (or richer) under load in comparison to stock. i can keep from running rich with my SAFC as well as the fact as i have an intake mod that rather welcomes more fuel.

reason for all this is a complete removal of the restrictor plate (which has been my project from the beginning if you notice my posts in particular). so far i've freed up most of the honeycomb surface of my maf and figure i need to either get new injectors or raise system pressure if i'm to finish the job. It's obvious that raising system pressure would add stress to the fuel system, but i'd like to know what kind of things could happen. and i can't really afford the injectors at the moment, but thinking of moving up to 300cc. my SAFC maps are pretty rediculous, but it keeps my baby working. anybody out there with a background in fuel systems give me a few pointers?

Are you going turbo?

43Psi is pretty high with a 1:1 FPR depending on how much you are going to boost..

I am not familiar with your project though.. But if it is a static rate.. 43psi should be ok. I think my base i run on my RX-7 is like 35PSI and with 20PSI boost i hit 55PSI fuel pressure.

my safc settings are super high unless i keep it at 43. at 43psi, my safc settings LO are from (+28)-(+32) and my HI are from (-26)-(+8). this is to keep within safe limits. if i were to free up more honeycomb area in the MAF, either these values would go up, or the system pressure goes up.

i'm taking auto classes and i've come up with some of my own opinions and theories, but i am asking for some experience from you tuners out there. thanks guys.

I am not to keen on fuel systems, and as you mentioned before I think the injectors would be your main worry. If you didnt push them too far past their limits I beleive you would be relativley safe. Too much you could run the chance of having them stick.
