Just bought the stainless steel one, the chrome one looks kind of cheap...and I'm going for better-than-rust looks... My stock manifold cover is beat, the bolts are rusty, and the header looks like dogpoo. My exhaust whistles at idle, and "put-puts". I know I have some leaks, but everything's rusted solid on the stock exhaust and isn't worth fixing...

I bought the OBX header and downpipe, got them in yesterday and they are PRETTY. I also went with an SRS catback with silencer (which I'll be keeping in until I go turbo, when the 2.5" exhaust's potential might be realized).

I'll post pics once I get them in on Sunday.

I've had these for a year and a half now, maybe a bit longer, and I have NO complaints. It turned some weird colors, but it really doesn't bother me. May be selling them in the next week or 2 since I'm going a different route with the car. PM if you want details or anything.

Make sure you take out the fans to install them. I've put 150 miles on them so far with stock catback, and haven't set off the CEL. I've noticed no real drop in low-end performance, but have noticed a significant improvement in power in the 40-100mph range. I plan to install the SRS catback this weekend, with the RRM CEL eliminator...although I don't see it being necessary...surprisingly enough, eliminating the header cat hasn't set off any warning lights so far. They turned rainbow colors within a day, just FYI, which doesn't bother me as I plan to wrap the headers anyway.

My only problem with the header/downpipe kit is that it didn't come with a gasket for the cat, and didn't come with new nuts for the head...had to use the old rusty nuts, although I was able to scrounge up some stainless lock washers (the stock nuts were barely finger tight when I took them off after 95k).

Pics for yous all:

OBX after 150 miles (notice the rainbow discoloration near the head):

^^^^^dude, I haven't noticed a difference in the low end at all. I'm still using the restrictive stock catback, tho...I'll let you know about the aftermarket catback I'm ;putting in this weekend, I'll still be using the silencer on it to restrict it some until I go turbo, so we'll see about the low end then...

So yeah, after 600 miles on JUST the headers, the CEL light came on. Looks like you need to plug the second O2 sensor and relocate it after the former second cat. I'll be doing it this weekend AND putting a CEL eliminator on it. I'll let you know how it goes.

ALso, just put the SRS catback on and it's a nice low sound, especially with the silencer on it.

I somewhat agree. Unless you get your car re-tuned for an after market header don't get one.

However if you go turbo, RRM sells a kit that works with their after market header. Or if you want a more serious setup, go with a manifold that's designed for your turbo.

I agree with the tune, plus it looks a lot better under the hood Obviously you'll see the most out of it if you get a bored out throttle body and intake, but NA cars won't see anything crazy until boosted. For now, it satisfies my daily driver needs on the highway. My top-end is MUCH better, but I did lose a noticeable amount of torque on the low-end. *shrugs* I'm not racing anyone so I'm not worried about engine flex from the crap stock engine mounts, but if you're worried about that there are plenty of threads on here about fixing it. Even RRM has a cheap fix to take care of it...well for the front mount, from unanimous opinion the rear is a PITA.

Oi, just an FYI for relocating the secondary o2 sensor. It can't be done with the stock unit, the wiring isn't long enough. I'm a little wary of cutting and splicing the wires, as I'm not sure if these are just your run of the mill wires or something unique. For now I plugged the o2 location, and am looking for another sensor with extended wiring, or an in-line "performance mod" that has extra wiring.

And the SR*S catback I put in had to have the hangers modified...specifically the passenger side by the muffler and the one on top of the muffler so that it didn't melt any more of my bumper, hit the bumper, or hit the frame rail.

Stay tuned on the 02 dealio, i'll post again when I find a decent solution...

Extended the wiring, mounted it up and 40 miles so far without throwing a CEL...
